Plant Based Pro Tip – This will make your life so much easier

One thing I quickly had to figure out when breaking based was how to not be hungry. Munching on lettuce all day is not exactly a way to stay satiated and uninterested in grabbing a burger. I needed something with substance that I could grab at any time. The following is an absolute staple in my daily life.

Grab yourself the following

  • 1 can black beans (low sodium preferred)
  • 1 can red beans (low sodium preferred)
  • 1 small package frozen corn

Rinse the beans and throw them in a plastic container. Add the corn and give it a nice shake. What you end up with is something that looks like this.

Add this mixture to a salad for an infinitely more satisfying meal. Add it to brown rice and you have yourself a quick and easy burrito bowl. Add it to a freshly mashed avocado and you have a jacked guacamole that will keep you full for hours.

Simple right? I do this at least once a week. It takes less than 5 minutes and makes my life so much easier. Beans and legumes are among the best foods you can ever eat. Loaded with protein and fiber, they will keep you feeling full all day. And that, my friends, is a recipe for success.

  1. Excellent tip. I tried it out this week, and I added the mixture to a salad and bowl or two of rice. I also used it to make burritos with brown rice, a scoop of fresh salsa, and a few squirts of sriracha. I’m still fairly new to the plant-based diet, so this is a great way to pack fiber, protein, and flavor into a dish without much effort. It’s also pretty good just by itself as a snack.
